Why
The modern internet sucks. It's been hijacked by governments, corporations, and authoritarian weirdos who've undermined everything that was authentic, interesting, and fun. Messagebored was created for anyone who's nostalgic for the internet before it was ruined by the least impressive people on earth.
- The internet is not real life.
- What happens on the internet should stay on the internet.
- You have the right to be anonymous.
- You have the right to be forgotten.
- Post whatever you want (unless it's illegal or spam).
Make the internet fun again.

- Privacy by default.
- Posts and user profiles are private by default, meaning they can only be seen by authenticated users.

- When something is deleted, it's gone forever.
- Every effort is made to avoid logging IP addresses for legitimate activity.

- Security by design.
- We only use strong cryptography like Argon2, TLS 1.2/1.3, Ed25519, A256KW, A256GCM, and SHA-256.
- Verify our SSL rating.
- Verify our security headers rating.
- Built by perfectionists.
- Contains 0% AI slop.
- Correctness is ensured by hundreds of unit and integration tests resulting in ~98% code coverage.
